Meet Founder and Managing Director, Chris

Chris was born and brought up in the Black Country and has a typically Black Country sense of humour! After working in accountancy and for the church, he founded Gordon & Kilvert in 2022 and has built it into a successful local painting and decorating business. Having heard so many stories of dissatisfied customers, Chris founded the company based on his core beliefs: honesty, integrity, fairness, commitment and hard work.

Chris and wife Jenny recently moved to the Worcestershire village of Wyre Piddle and enjoy watching the ducks splashing around in the brook at the end of the garden. When not decorating Chris enjoys watching Grand Designs or cricket, ballroom dancing and trying to build things out of wood.

About us

At Gordon & Kilvert, we have two driving beliefs.

Firstly, our homes deserve the best we can offer because our homes are important to us . They are personal, they are autobiographical, they are our precious places of safety and comfort. You, and your home, deserve the best.

Secondly, we are passionate about customer satisfaction which I hope begins with the quote and ends when you are happy with the work carried out. We strive to offer you the highest quality of work and we guarantee all of our work for two years (which does not affect your statutory rights at all). We will take the time to walk around the work before we begin and again afterwards so we can be sure that we have fulfilled your expectations.

Our passion comes from our company’s namesakes. My father was Gordon and he taught me about hard work and quality craftsmanship. Kilvert was my mother’s maiden name. My mom taught me about resilience and the importance of homemaking. In their memory and for all that they taught me, we named our business after them. With hard work, craftsmanship and the homemaker’s eye, we do all we can to help you make your house your home.

The following pages detail the scope and detail of the works you have asked me to quote for. I am very happy to receive questions or comments and I’m happy to keep on reworking the specification until we find the scope of work you are happy with.
